Serving your course material needs

The CSU Bookstore is committed to serving veterans and sponsored students with their course materials needs. Our Course Materials Department staff understands the benefits our student veterans receive, and is committed to serving the needs for these students whether they attend classes on campus or CSU Online.

Who Is Eligible for Course Material Benefits?

Please check with the Office of Military and Veteran's Benefits or your sponsor to verify the process of acquiring your course materials.

How Do I Get My Course Materials?

IMPORTANT: In order to provide you the best experience, we encourage veteran and sponsored students to visit with our Course Materials department to ensure their materials are billed properly.

In order to get your books as part of your veteran's benefits, please do one of the following:

  • Bring your schedule and student ID to the CSU Bookstore, and pick your books from the sales floor. When you are ready to check out, come to the Course Materials Information Counter and inform the staff you are purchasing with you are a veteran or sponsored student benefits.
  • Distance students can email Elizabeth O'Brien-Smith with your student ID number, preferred shipping address, and the course materials (and if applicable, any requested supplies) you need. We will ship them via UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail.
    • Please do not place an order through our website, as this can cause billing errors.

When Should I Request My Books?

We strongly recommend requesting your books at least a week prior to classes beginning. Students who are studying abroad should request materials earlier to allow for extra transit time.

What About Supplies?

Some students have a benefit that allows them to purchase supplies. If you have a supplies benefit, purchase your supplies at the bookstore when you purchase your textbooks. Distance students can select items you need from our supplies department product listing online, and email Elizabeth O'Brien-Smith with your requests.

Can you ship my books?

CSU Bookstore can ship books to distance students using UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail, depending on the destination. Please visit our Shipping Information Page for current shipping rates.

When requesting your course materials, please notify us you will need your course materials shipped and your preferred shipping address.
