The CSU Bookstore buys textbooks during the school year for a course materials wholesaler. We deposit the funds in your student account.

If an instructor uses the book on the CSU campus next term, we will pay up to 50% of the new price for your books. For example, if an instructor uses a $100 chemistry book on campus, we will pay you $50. You paid only $50 to use the book for the semester.

If instructors are not using a book on campus, we will still buy your book if there is a nationwide demand for the book at another college for a used textbook company. The nationwide used book market sets this price for that title.

Books we are not purchasing and that have no sellback value can be donated to help Rams Against Hunger. These books are shipped to a company that pays a minimal amount for each box of books ($15 per box). This money goes directly to Rams Against Hunger, which helps fight food insecurity among CSU students, staff, faculty, and the Fort Collins community.

Remote students can send books to the CSU Bookstore for buyback, and the funds will be deposited into their student account. Students are responsible for shipping costs to send books to the CSU Bookstore. You can get a quote for your books below.
