Benefits of the Day One Access Program

Reduce Overall Cost of Course Materials

Because the CSU Bookstore negotiates pricing with the publishers, we can provide students greater savings on course materials than if the customer purchased course materials on their own.

We charge the course materials directly to the student's university account, allowing students defer payment instead of using credit cards or funds earmarked for other expenses.

A Better Choice for Sustainability

We deliver Day One Access titles electronically, reducing the amount of paper used to print books. Electronic delivery reduces emissions from freight deliveries.

As a result of lower overall production and logistics costs, digital course content is less expensive than their printed textbook counterpart. Many courses also offer a low-cost print upgrade, providing you a hard copy of the materials, for an additional cost.

Day One Access to Course Materials

Students have access to necessary course materials on the first day of class. Instructors can teach from the materials and assign homework right away because all students - even wait-listed students -  have access to the materials and courseware.

Increased interaction with course content leads to greater success in the course.

CSU Bookstore is a pioneer of Day One Access (formerly called Inclusive Access) programs that many college bookstores emulate across the nation. Day One Access converts physical course materials into accessible, interactive, and adaptive digital content, while reducing the cost to students. Every academic year, students save over $2 million when compared to paying for printed materials with an access code included!

This program improves access and affordability to course materials for the 21st century. The program allows our campus to reduce student course materials costs in comparison to traditional print text, and ensures that EVERY student has easy access to the content on the first day of class. Instructors don't have to wait for the class to acquire the necessary course materials because every student has required materials on the first day of class. The CSU Bookstore conveniently charges Course Materials costs to the student's university account.
