Border War by Robert Gagliardi

Item Description

"The Border War" by Robert Gagliardi is a depiction of the long history of the football rivalry between Colorado State and Wyoming, that dates back to 1899. The book chronicles some of the memorable games and characters over the years, and describes why this is one of the best rivalries in college football.

The authors are both national award-winning sports journalists. Robert Gagliardi is the senior sports editor for wyosports.net, the combined efforts of the newspapers in Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyo., who has covered University of Wyoming football and basketball for nearly 25 years. Ryan Thorburn is a reporter for The Register-Guard in Eugene, Oregon, who covers University of Oregon football.

This is the fourth book Thorburn has written on the history of University of Wyoming sports.

Although both writers are Wyoming graduates, "The Border War" is not slanted toward one school or the other. And, the foreword was written by two of the more prominent figures from both schools -- Gary Ozzello from Colorado State and Kevin McKinney from Wyoming.
