About Jennifer Ackerfield:

Jennifer Ackerfield has been studying the flora of Colorado for nearly 20 years. During this time, she has traveled extensively across the state of Colorado documenting its rich floristic diversity. She is currently the curator at Colorado State University Herbarium and teaches Plant Identification at CSU. She has served on the board for the Colorado Native Plant Society, and written several articles on the flora of Colorado. She enjoys hiking, photographing wildflowers, botanical illustration, and educating students on the wonderful world of botany.

An invaluable resource for both home owners and the green industry. Each plant evaluation is based on data collected between 1997 and 2012 and each plant included in the book was evaluated for at least 10 years. Plants at the Arboretum are evaluated on characteristics related to aesthetic value, plant health, insect and disease problems, and cultural and maintenance problems. In addition to photographs of most of the trees featured in the book, readers will find general characteristics, a summary of the main ornamental features of each tree, and performance measures. The book also contains several appendices which list the trees by flower color, fruit color, landscape uses, mature size and fall color. About the Author

Robert L. Zimdahl is a Professor of Weed Science at Colorado State University. He received his Ph.D. in Agronomy from Oregon State University. Among his many honors and awards, Dr. Zimdahl was elected a Fellow of the Weed Science Society of America in 1986 and currently serves as editor of that society’s journal, Weed Science. He has been a member of several international task forces (in Italy, the Philippines, India and Morocco) and has authored a number of books and articles on the subject of weed science and agricultural ethics.
