The General Books area is a great place to hang out and spend time with books.  At the back of the area, we have our friendly General Books expert, Fran Wilson who can find just about any title for your needs. 

Departments receive benefits for ordering through the CSU Bookstore.  In additon, price quotes can be found on our main General Books Page.  Fill this out and you will recieve a quote within one business day.

CARDS

We carry a wide range of cards from a number of popular publishers and local artists.  We feature seasonal cards, diversity cards, cards geared towards women and men, humor and birthday cards.

Magazines

We provide a wide range of magazines and periodicals for our community.  Of course all of the most popular ones like Cosmopolitan and Health and Fitness are available, but also a number of literary and historical periodicals that meet the needs of our campus community.  Along with these, departments may request that we carry a periodical for students needs in the classroom.

Bestsellers and Fiction Books

Using the ABA IndieBound Independent Booksellers list, we order the top 10 bestsellers for hardcover and paperpack fiction and nonfiction along with children's titles.  We give a 30% discount on these books.  This list is based on sales at independent stores, not on publisher recommendations... so our customers are keeping up with other readers from across the country.

Along with the Bestsellers, and just behind that area are the Fiction titles.  Many literature titles can be located in this area.  We hold a large set of books which are popular on campuses across the country.

Humor and Science Fiction 

Probably our most popular area in the store, students young and old can be found haunting this area for a good joke, a political pundit and a wide range of interesting titles.

We also carry a wide range of science fiction and fantasy titles for relaxation on or in another world.

History, Political Science, Diversity, Biography

And Children's Books

 

The store carries current titles in this area.  We feature titles that are up-to-date on current events.  We mostly carry trade paperbacks in this area to keep the costs down for our campus community.  As always, special ordering is an option.

Games and Alternative Activities

Who does not Sudoku... we do!  Along with these titles we also carry cards, unusual games and fun party activities.  There are games for all ages too.

Self Help, Religion and Psychology

We feature a number of titles from all the religions of the world. Psychology and sociology titles are along this aisle as well.  Included in this area are titles for succeeding in college and relationships as well.

Cookbooks, Sports and Recreation

 

One of our favorite areas to browse, the cookbook section offers a number of inexpensive guides for students to learn how to cook and survive on their own with their first home-away-from-home experiences.  In this area we also carry sports and rec titles including hiking, biking and camping titles for our area... and let's not forget skiing! 

Business and Computer Books

We support one of our number one colleges by offering business and computer titles at the store.  Besides classic investment titles we also carry titles for succeeding as a recent graduate, budgeting titles and some great reference titles for a wide range of popular computer programs.

Colorado History, Travel Guides and Art

Colorado history is one of our featured areas.  Including local history, ghost towns and mining towns of Colorado and great picture books from our region, one could get lost in here and then want to travel our state. 

Travel guides are available from the store.  We feature areas of the world that our students travel to study abroad.  Many of these reference guides will help the traveler succeed in other countries with money and language guides.

Our art section provides some great titles on techniques, photography, and famous popular artists.

NATURE

Being a GREEN University in colors and commitment, we feature a number of titles dedicated to the earth, creating better energy resources for people, water resource titles and some amazing memoirs of living in nature. 

Vet, Horses, Birds and Bugs

We are a magnet for veterinary students and many titles are available at the Vet bookstore within the Veternary Teaching Hospital.  We carry titles for the animal sciences and specialize in birds and bugs as we have eminent professors on our campus who are devoted to this area of study.

Popular Science, Physics, Engineering, Horticulture and more!

Though in the back of our area, these subjects are among our most beloved books in the store.  The area is great for browsing unusual topics especially in horticulture and physics. 

Author Events and Displays

 

We partner with any department, organization, student group or entity on campus to sell titles at events when authors come to speak.  We feature these on displays throughout our area.  We also feature major events on campus through our displays these include:  Banned Book Week, MLK Day, Black History Month, National Hispanic Awareness Month, Asian and Pacific Awareness Month, GLBTQ Awareness Month, Native American Awareness Month, Constitution Day and many many more.  We are always rotating displays to keep our customers interested and engaged.
